An article on CNN mentions a song that talks about taking the action to prevent suicide. In the article, Logic Song Shares Suicide Prevention Hotline Number, the director of the Suicide Prevention hotline said, "On the day the song was released, we had the second-highest call volume in the history of our service." The song is called, "1-800-273-8255" I feel that his song about taking the action to prevent suicide helps people to find the light at the end of the tunnel. The people that listen to Logic's music are realizing that there is more to life than ending it, and that is most likely why the suicide prevention hotline number received so many calls. The article also shared hopeful, personal experiences from others that have listened to "1-800-273-8255" Logic's song was able to have such a positive influence on the people that listened to it, that he most likely saved people from making a decision in their life that would have been permanent. Although it was just a song with a few repeated words, it was a way for people to move on from the negative.
The world I come from is peaceful. There isn't much conflict or problems of any kind. The place that I like to spend a lot of my time is in the water. Whether it's raining or not, I will usually be the first in and the last out. There's so much more to the ocean than just swimming in it. When I'm there, I would always be taking pictures, surfing, paddling, or looking at life underwater. I love being in the water, because it's like seeing an untouched world. It's a place without buildings, and thousands of cars or trucks. The ocean is like a place that is able to slow me down, and show me what I should be thankful for.
